Texas Defensive Training uses proven methods and high quality instruction to help you develop firearms skills quickly and safely. If you are totally new to firearms, we recommend starting with either a 1-on-1 Private Lesson, or our Intro to Handgun course. The next step for the competent shooter is obtaining their Texas License to Carry. For those who have already completed LTC, we highly encourage you to take our Defensive Handgun 1 course.

AVAILABLE COURSES OF INSTRUCTION
In addition to Private Lessons, we offer the following courses providing comprehensive instruction on specific topics.
Covers handgun safety, parts, nomenclature, function, loading, unloading, grip, stance, aiming, and firing.
Get licensed-to-carry a handgun in the State of Texas. Options for taking the class portion online and in-person available.
For those who have their LTC, this course teaches how to deal with malfunctions, rapid reloads, and shooting while in motion.
Active Shooter Response
2-Hour Course
Teaches the basic strategies to survive an Active Shooter / Active Attacker Event. Includes 1-hour of advanced shooting training on the gun range.
Intro to AR-15
Covers rifle safety, parts, nomenclature and function. During this course you will learn to load/unload, zero, aim and fire your rifle.
Intro to Shotgun
Covers safety, parts, nomenclature and function. During this course you will learn to load/unload, aim and fire a shotgun.
