Weaponless Defense Courses

Weaponless Defense encompasses a number of skills which are primarily needed by law enforcement and private security officers who openly-carry firearms in the course of their work. These techniques are also useful for civilians who carry a firearm.

Topics covered in our Weaponless Defense Courses include:

Weapon Retention (1-hour)

If you choose to carry a firearm, it is crucial to prevent a bad guy from taking it and using it against you. This training teaches how to position yourself as well as how to repel an attempt to take your weapon.

Handgun and Long Gun Disarms (2-hour)

At close-range, when someone has the drop on you – it may not be possible to get your handgun out in time. In these cases disarming the opponent is the safer and smarter option.

Soft Defenses (controlling techniques)

Though primarily employed by law enforcement and private security, the ability to control someone with “soft means” instead of punching and striking them may be required.
